Novel surgical and orthopaedic techniques and devices
Developing novel surgical and orthopaedic devices and procedures to benefit patients.
This workstream focuses on safely developing novel surgical and orthopaedic devices and procedures for the benefit of patients. We are working with universities around the country and industry partners to create, refine and test novel interventions.
We engage with patient and public representatives to make sure what we do is safe, acceptable, and meaningful to patients. Our researchers are focused on outcomes that matter to patients. They are ensuring that developments in the field of surgical and orthopaedic innovation are supported by transparent processes that lead to clear and high-quality oversight, patient communication, and reporting of adverse events and outcomes.
We are conducting first-in-human studies and developing interventions under the guidance of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
