Dr James Olivier
Honorary Senior Research Associate
James Olivier is an Upper GI Registrar (ST8) at Gloucester Royal Hospital and an Honorary Senior Research Associate in Applied Health Research at the University of Bristol. He is a member of the Bristol Doctoral College and was awarded his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Bristol.
James has a special interest in research focusing on the role of modifications in surgical innovation. His doctoral thesis explored methods for promoting the safety and efficiency of surgical innovation, which led to the development of the SMART checklist to help identify and report modifications to innovative surgical procedures and devices.
