Bristol alumni test their surgical skills at celebration event

The Bristol Biomedical Research Centre’s (BRC) ‘Beat the Surgeon’ game proved a challenge for alumni and friends of the University of Bristol at the annual Supporters’ Celebration on 9 November, hosted by the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Hugh Brady.

Every year, the Development and Alumni Relations Office takes time to thank supporters for giving back to the University through donations, mentoring and volunteering.

This year, researchers from the BRC’s Surgical Innovation theme joined academics, students and staff from across the University to showcase their work and how support from alumni and friends makes a big difference.

During rounds of competitive surgery, our researchers chatted with guests about how they’re developing ways to test new surgical procedures to the same standards applied to other areas of healthcare.
