About the event
Wish you Could See Me (WYCS) is an idea for a non-clinical personal space where someone can type, talk or record thoughts, feelings and moments as they happen, without needing to make sense of them straight away.
AI could offer conversation and gentle questions to help someone explore their thoughts, find words for what they’re feeling or see things differently – without pressure to reach a conclusion. The person stays in control of what they record, revisit or share. The speaker, Faye Bath, will introduce the idea and invite feedback on how it could be useful, safe and respectful.
Faye would welcome honest feedback on whether this idea would be useful, what people would want from it, and what might put them off. She’s particularly interested in how AI conversation and questions could help people explore their thoughts without feeling judged, directed or misunderstood. She’d also like views on privacy, keeping the person in control, and involving people with different experiences in developing the idea.
About the speaker
Faye Bath is an Expert by Experience working with Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP). She contribute to involvement work, education and conversations about improving mental health services. Wish You Could See Me has grown from her own experiences of how difficult it can be to explain thoughts and feelings after the moment has passed, and her wish to create space for people to express themselves in their own words and on their own terms.
