Preparing a strong translational research grant application can be challenging, particularly when navigating funder expectations and timelines. This interactive session will offer practical insights to help researchers position their projects effectively and develop compelling proposals for schemes such as the MRC translational funding schemes and NIHR i4i.

Speakers will include MRC Programme Managers, who will provide updates on recent changes to their translational schemes, with a particular focus on two key opportunities reopening in July 2026: the MRC Proof of Concept scheme (formerly DPFS) and the MRC Impact Acceleration Awards (formerly MRC Gap Fund).

You will also hear from University of Bristol researchers who have successfully secured translational research funding, offering insights from their own experience.

Join to:

  • Hear directly from funders (UKRI MRC Programme Managers) and successful UoB applicants.
  • Learn how to structure a competitive translational grant application.
  • Discover where to access expert support for proposal development.
  • Take advantage of optional 1:1 surgeries for tailored advice.
