The NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Southampton is delighted to host an NIHR South West BRC Alliance webinar on Friday 9th October, 1pm to 2pm, chaired by NIR BRC: Southampton director Professor Nicholas Harvey.
This webinar will showcase how cutting-edge respiratory research is improving care for patients and shaping future treatments.
Featured talks:
- Professor Michael Gibbons (NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Exeter) will discuss how advances in our understanding of genes and telomeres are opening up new possibilities for personalised treatments for pulmonary fibrosis, while also helping researchers better understand the benefits and risks of existing therapies.
- Professor Nick Maskell (NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Bristol) will explore how early phase research in pleural disease has progressed to large multicentre clinical trials, influenced international guidelines, and improved patient outcomes.
The South West BRC Alliance brings together expertise from Southampton, Bristol and Exeter to advance research with the potential to transform patient care.
