Research conversation: Masking and mental health in neurodivergent young people
- 25 - 25 February 2025

About the event
The ‘Masking and mental health in neurodivergent young people’ project aims to support young people who mask their neurodivergence, such as autism or ADHD. This is also known as camouflaging, or hiding differences.
We want to develop some freely-available resources for young people and their families to use, to promote good mental health and give young people more control over their masking.
Laura is looking to gather suggestions on what kind of resources might be helpful for young people and families.
Our speaker
Dr Laura Hull is a Research Fellow in the Department of Population Health Studies, University of Bristol. Her research focuses on the mental health of neurodivergent people across the lifespan, with a particular interest in masking/camouflaging.
What is a research conversation?
Research Conversations are hosted by People in Health West of England and are informal sessions which are designed to give researchers and public contributors a chance to interact. Public contributors are encouraged to ask questions, learn about, and get involved in projects in their area.
