Professor Ben Gibbison
Professor of Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care
Ben Gibbison is Professor of Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the University of Bristol and an Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. His research focuses on improving outcomes for patients undergoing cardiac surgery and those with critical illness.
He has particular interests in peri-operative and intensive care pathways, neurological and hormonal dysfunction, and the application of clinical and physiological data to support evidence-based care. He leads and contributes to NIHR-funded translational and applied clinical research both within and outside the Bristol BRC.
