Dr Angus Nightingale is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Bristol Heart Institute and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol.

He is the clinical lead for Heart Failure and Hypertension in University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. He runs a cardiac Long-COVID clinic.

He is involved in translational cardiovascular medicine research focusing on autonomic control and co-leading the Bristol Cardionomics Research Group. This group investigates why people develop high blood pressure and some go on to heart failure.

He is involved in research studies investigating novel ways to prevent the development or worsening of heart failure.
