Mike is a Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedics at the University of Bristol. Alongside his role as deputy theme co-lead and a workstream co-lead for the surgical and orthopaedic innovation theme, he is a Head of Section in Bristol Medical School and Head of Clinical Academic Training for the University and HEE South West Severn.
Mike’s work in the BRC will focus on developing and piloting early-stage orthopaedic interventions to support the translational research pathway. As well as supporting new interventions, his work will help develop methods for responsible and transparent introduction of interventions to fill treatment gaps for patients with musculoskeletal problems to better address their pain and limitations imposed on their function.
